We understand that moving on to a new chapter in one’s life is often unplanned and the choices available can be daunting.
Here at Oakhaven we will help you with the planning of your residence step by step, whether it’s on a long term, respite or convalescent basis.
To get a good first hand experience of our home, we welcome you to come and meet us, have lunch with us, take a good look around and meet our staff, residents and their families. Take time to talk to our residents, as above all, they can give you the best testimonial.
Make sure you also take a look at our latest inspection report from the CQC (Care Quality Commission), available by visiting here.
At Oakhaven a resident’s room is treated as their own private domain. As a matter of principle all staff knock before entering any resident’s room, therefore providing the same degree of privacy and decorum we would expect in our homes. Most rooms benefit from added amenities such as specially equipped bathrooms in addition to mobility and lifting equipment for those who require extra help.
Each room boasts a sophisticated 24-hour staff call-system which means help is never more than a moment away. Whilst all rooms are fitted with both TV and telephone points residents can also choose to be connected via broadband with full access to all online services, thus enabling easy communication with family and loved ones. Residents are also widely encouraged to bring their own treasured possessions and belongings with them to establish a warm and individual feel to their rooms, and so residents feel as comfortable and secure as they would in their own homes.
Most of all we want you to be safe in the knowledge that all your questions have been answered, any concerns dealt with to your satisfaction and your wishes fulfilled to the best of our ability.
When a resident joins us, our professional care staff will work with residents and their families or representatives on drawing up a personal care plan that is designed to meet an individual’s needs, as well as allowing us to understand their life histories and personal preferences no matter how seemingly insignificant.
Should you require it, we are also able to recommend what we consider to be the best independent organisations to advise on the most fitting way of meeting the cost of care.
Equally, we offer advice and a sensitive approach to relatives and are able to guide you through from initial assessment to settling in loved ones.
