CQC accreditation

As a private residential care home for the elderly we are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our registration means that Oakhaven is subject to inspection by CQC Inspectors.

Maintaining Quality

We always strive to improve the way we provide personal and residential care. To help us with this, we regularly ask our residents, their relatives as well as visiting professionals questions to let us know how they experience life at Oakhaven, what we do well and what we can do even better. We embrace change and have an open door policy where any type of comment or suggestion is welcomed.

Our professional staff

At Oakhaven we value the dedication and attention to detail our staff bring to their roles. It is usually the small things that can really make a difference to a resident’s life.  A personal gesture, a listening ear and a warm smile all go a long way.

We have a solid team of senior managers, matrons and dedicated care staff who provide excellent standards of personal and residential care to create a happy place to live for our residents.  These standards stretch across the board, not just in relation to the care we provide, but also in our hospitality, housekeeping, maintenance and administrative services.

We firmly believe that choosing the right staff and providing ongoing training and development opportunities creates an exceptional working environment and in fact most of our professional care staff have a long association with Oakhaven, our residents and their families.

Training

With 25 years of experience in this field, we carefully consider new care staff for their friendliness, sensitivity, expertise and ability to deliver the best care possible.
All staff undergo a training programme that meets Skills for Care and CQC requirements.  We also provide a programme of continuous development which includes the promotion of residents’ rights, food hygiene, first aid, health and safety together with regular updates and training to a minimum of NVQ2.

Above and beyond formal training we also teach our staff best practice techniques, those things we have learned and perfected over the years as well as taking pride in small but all-so-important things that give Oakhaven the personal touch.
